For 30 years, the Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law has been offered by the Faculty of Law. It is a cooperative venture by the Faculty of Law and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI). This makes your education unique: no other LL.M programme offers the joint resources of a prestigious law school and an implementation-oriented human rights institution. The Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law is one of the first LL.M programmes established specifically to provide for the academic mastery of an increasingly complex area: the international law of human rights and humanitarian law.

Scandinavia’s oldest programme in European economic law at Scandinavia’s best-ranked law faculty provides an in-depth understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of European law. It offers an excellent foundation in the EU constitutional framework and in the workings of the most important rules governing how businesses operate in Europe. The programme is taught by expert teachers from Lund University, supported by leading academics from other top-ranked universities, and with input from senior practitioners in key EU institutions, national authorities and leading law firms. With the optional second year, students have extensive possibilities to tailor their studies to suit their interests and future career ambitions.

As the first European Affairs programme in Sweden (established in 1994), we offer a unique combination of courses, covering topics such as European governance, EU negotiations, EU law, and Europe in global affairs. In addition to getting a theoretical understanding of these and related topics, we also enable you to bridge theory and practice by taking the opportunity to do a 10 or 20-week internship course at an organisation of your choice. In addition to being part of a dynamic and international student group, you will be taught by highly-trained teachers who are active researchers in their own fields of expertise.

LUMID is an interdisciplinary programme focusing on international development and management. The programme offers students a unique combination of theoretical knowledge, applied research methods and management skills pertaining to a range of current development areas. Seventy per cent of our students find work within the development sector within a year of graduating. Our alumni have successfully gained employment in an extensive number of development organisations worldwide, ranging from multilateral organisations (e.g. various UN agencies) and international aid and cooperation agencies (e.g. Sida) to non-governmental organisations. LUMID is a member of the Global Association for Master’s in Development Practice (MDP).

International trade evolves rapidly. Those interested in doing business within the EU and globally must know the rules governing their business-operations. Contemporary international trade law involves multiple fields of law, which affect all aspects of business. Firms and institutions must constantly be prepared to adapt to new challenges. For example, climate considerations and other issues of sustainability transform the business environment globally. In addition, digitalization, artificial intelligence and automation create new legal issues for businesses and legislatures. The programme, which builds on previous studies in law, management and/or economics, provides an in-depth understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of trade and tax law within the EU as well as globally.

The Master of Science in Global Studies is an interdisciplinary social science Master’s programme which aims to provide you with knowledge of globalisation, conflict and social change. This involves an understanding of theories connected to processes of globalisation and transformation as analysed through various disciplinary frameworks. The programme presents major cultural, economic, political and socio-psychological theories and concepts to enable you to make informed, comparative analyses of how globalisation is linked to conflict and social change. Previous students have, for example, undertaken internship placements at embassies and at international NGOs, private companies and the public sector.
