LUMID is an interdisciplinary programme focusing on international development and management. The programme offers students a unique combination of theoretical knowledge, applied research methods and management skills pertaining to a range of current development areas. Seventy per cent of our students find work within the development sector within a year of graduating. Our alumni have successfully gained employment in an extensive number of development organisations worldwide, ranging from multilateral organisations (e.g. various UN agencies) and international aid and cooperation agencies (e.g. Sida) to non-governmental organisations. LUMID is a member of the Global Association for Master’s in Development Practice (MDP).

International trade evolves rapidly. Those interested in doing business within the EU and globally must know the rules governing their business-operations. Contemporary international trade law involves multiple fields of law, which affect all aspects of business. Firms and institutions must constantly be prepared to adapt to new challenges. For example, climate considerations and other issues of sustainability transform the business environment globally. In addition, digitalization, artificial intelligence and automation create new legal issues for businesses and legislatures. The programme, which builds on previous studies in law, management and/or economics, provides an in-depth understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of trade and tax law within the EU as well as globally.

The Master of Science in Global Studies is an interdisciplinary social science Master’s programme which aims to provide you with knowledge of globalisation, conflict and social change. This involves an understanding of theories connected to processes of globalisation and transformation as analysed through various disciplinary frameworks. The programme presents major cultural, economic, political and socio-psychological theories and concepts to enable you to make informed, comparative analyses of how globalisation is linked to conflict and social change. Previous students have, for example, undertaken internship placements at embassies and at international NGOs, private companies and the public sector.
