The Master of Science in Global Studies is an interdisciplinary social science Master’s programme which aims to provide you with knowledge of globalisation, conflict and social change. This involves an understanding of theories connected to processes of globalisation and transformation as analysed through various disciplinary frameworks. The programme presents major cultural, economic, political and socio-psychological theories and concepts to enable you to make informed, comparative analyses of how globalisation is linked to conflict and social change. Previous students have, for example, undertaken internship placements at embassies and at international NGOs, private companies and the public sector.

This programme provides you with the tools and skills to understand the design of information systems that address important organisational and societal challenges. In this programme, you will learn how information and communication technologies and artificial intelligence can be used to achieve strategic goals, and how to design and develop modern information systems which are flexible to the goals and needs of the organisation. You will gain a deeper understanding of the wider business context of information systems and how digitalisation affects organisations. After graduation, you can pursue a career that links technology, people and business. This interdisciplinary programme is aimed at students who, after their undergraduate studies, want to gain area expertise on contemporary East and South-East Asia. The programme offers students an opportunity to specialise regionally and thematically. Students choose a country or a region of focus in East and South-East Asia but also read courses that are more general and deal with cross-regional issues. During the fourth semester, you will have the possibility to travel to Asia to carry out fieldwork and collect material for your Master's thesis.

Cultural criminology is about local cultures, subcultures and a whole range of cultural characteristics associated with crime. It aims to explain and understand how people involved in crime go about their everyday life and how they interact with others. We want to get inside the experiences of committing or controlling crime. If you are a graffiti writer, what are the thrills? What efforts are used in trying to control graffiti, and what is the cultural understanding among media and social control agents?

Students in this programme will conduct individual industrial design projects, participate in workshops and contribute to the creation of knowledge within the field of design. By organising exhibitions, seminars and workshops, you will communicate your work and participate in the public debate. Students will become authorities in their chosen subject and the programme encourages the in-depth debate and deliberation of the discipline. Upon completion of the programme, students will be well-prepared to continue these discussions as designers, entrepreneurs, design coordinators, managers or researchers. The Master’s programme in Mathematical Statistics provides a broad spectrum of tools and methods for handling random phenomena occurring in scientific as well as industrial contexts. Within the programme, you can specialise in many different areas such as the modelling of economical, biological and environmental data. You study at least 45 credits in mathematical statistics at the Master’s level and write a Master’s thesis of 30 credits. The remaining (at most 45) credits can be used in additional mathematical statistics courses or, for example, mathematics or numerical analysis, as well as in other subjects, for example, computer science, economics, molecular biology and bioinformatics.
